Travel Advisory: Alaska Airlines Experiencing Significant Delays, Cancellations Due to Heavy Snow in Anchorage

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 2002--Alaska Airlines cautioned customers Sunday to expect significant delays and cancellations due to a winter storm that continues to dump heavy snow at Anchorage International Airport.

Flights affected are those originating and terminating in Anchorage, as well as those flights that connect through Anchorage to other destinations within the state of Alaska.

Only a small fraction of its flights in the Lower 48 have been affected due to the storm. The storm is expected to continue into the evening. Customers planning to travel to or from Anchorage, or on flights connecting through Anchorage, are encouraged to confirm flight status before their scheduled departure time.

Customers can check their flight status online at www.alaskaair.com, or by calling Alaska Airlines Reservations at 1-800-ALASKAAIR (1-800-252-7522).
