SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2001--Horizon Air announced today that it will offer new nonstop jet service between Medford and Los Angeles International Airport once daily starting November 20.

The service will be operated with new, 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jets.

For the first five days, Nov. 20-24, the southbound service will depart Medford at 11 a.m., with the northbound service departing Los Angeles at 1:30 p.m.

Starting November 25, the southbound service will depart Medford at 7 a.m. Monday-Saturday, and depart at 11 a.m. on Sundays; northbound the flight will depart Los Angeles at 8:35 p.m. Sunday-Friday, and depart at 5:05 p.m. on Saturdays. Flight time each way will be one hour and 45 minutes.

Horizon is currently offering a special fare of $119 each way on the new route when tickets are purchased by October 16 and travel completed by December 15, 2001. Roundtrip purchase is required. Seats are limited and not available at this price Nov. 20, 21, 25, and 26. Passenger facility charges of up to $18 roundtrip and segment charges of $2.75 per flight segment apply. Tickets are non-refundable. Other restrictions apply.

Horizon's new service will fill a void left by another airline October 30 when that airline discontinues the only nonstop service that currently exists between Medford and Los Angeles. Today, Horizon Air provides service to Los Angeles via connections to Alaska Airlines at Portland and Seattle.

In addition to making travel between Medford and Los Angeles easier, the new service will provide new convenient connections to the Mexico resort destinations of Los Cabos, Manzanillo/Costa Alegre, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, all served from Los Angeles by Horizon's sister company Alaska Airlines. Starting December 15, Alaska will also offer service from Los Angeles to Cancun.
