Horizon Air Increases Flights to Five Cities

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2001--Horizon Air announced today that starting Feb. 3 it will increase flights from Eugene, Pasco, Vancouver, Victoria and Yakima to Seattle.

Eugene service will increase from five to six daily flights to Seattle.

Pasco to Seattle service will increase from seven to eight daily flights, and as previously announced, flights from Pasco to Portland will increase from three to four flights per day on Feb. 3 as well.

Vancouver service will increase from 10 to 11 daily flights to Seattle.

Victoria service, which was previously announced to increase from five to six daily flights to Seattle starting Feb. 3, will instead increase to seven daily flights on Feb. 3.

Yakima service will increase from seven to eight daily flights to Seattle.

All the new flights will be operated with 37-seat Q200 turboprops with the exception of the new Vancouver-Seattle flight, which will be flown with a 70-seat Q400 turboprop. Also, two other Vancouver-Seattle flights currently operated with Q200s will instead be flown with Q400s.

"We have strong demand on these routes and so we are increasing service to better meet the needs of our customers," said Patrick Zachwieja, Horizon Air vice president of marketing and planning.

The additional service will make point-to-point travel more convenient and add new connections at Seattle to Horizon's long-haul airline partners Alaska Airlines and Northwest as well as others.

Horizon Air operates flights to cities throughout Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Alberta and British Columbia. Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, Inc (NYSE:ALK).
