SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 26, 2001--Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) today announced the Gift Miles program, which allows the purchase and gifting of up to 10,000 Mileage Plan miles.

"Travel is a wonderful gift, and this lets you give travel while still letting the recipient decide when and where to travel," said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska's senior vice president of marketing and planning. "Our customers have been asking for a way to give travel, and we are pleased to provide it."

Gift Miles can be purchased for $50 for each 2,000-mile increment up to 10,000 miles. The recipient of Gift Miles must have a valid Mileage Plan account at the time of purchase. Miles will post to the Mileage Plan account within 48 hours of purchase. All recipients receive a Gift Miles certificate. Gift Miles do not count toward MVP and MVP Gold status.
