Alaska, Horizon Announce Service Plans for Friday
SEATTLE, Sep 13, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) tonight
announced that it plans to operate about 25 percent of its schedule Friday,
while Horizon Air tentatively will operate about 50 percent of its flights.
Both carriers plan to operate flights in nearly all cities they serve. Alaska will not operate service to Washington, D.C., or any international destinations.
"We've placed special emphasis on the Alaska portion of our route system since the state and its people are so dependent on Alaska Airlines for passenger and cargo service," said Bill Ayer, Alaska Airlines' president and chief operating officer.
Flights will be launched beginning at approximately 6 a.m. Pacific Time. Customers are advised to check the status of flights on line at www.alaskaair.com and www.horizonair.com before heading to the airport.
