Alaska Airlines Doubles Service to Washington, D.C.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2001--Alaska Airlines today announced it will operate two nonstop flights daily between Seattle and Washington, D.C. -- one to Reagan National Airport and one to Dulles International Airport, beginning December 4.

Alaska had originally introduced service to Reagan National September 4. When Reagan remained closed for an undetermined period of time following the September 11 attacks, Alaska transferred that flight to Dulles in the neighboring Virginia suburbs, about 30 minutes from downtown Washington, D.C.

"The reopening of Reagan National Airport will allow us to resume our Anchorage-Seattle-Washington, D.C. flight at the downtown airport," said Gregg Saretsky, the carrier's senior vice president of marketing and planning. "In the meantime, the excellent response to our Dulles flight has encouraged us to make Dulles a permanent part of the Alaska Airlines system."

The additional flight will provide morning, mid-day or evening departure options for both eastbound and westbound travelers.

Beginning December 4, scheduled flight times are:

Alaska Airlines Flight 1
