Alaska Airlines to Add Third Daily Nonstop Between Seattle and Washington, D.C., This Summer

SEATTLE, Apr 3, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) will add a third daily nonstop flight between Seattle and Washington, D.C., this summer with the addition of a second flight to Dulles International Airport.

The carrier currently operates one daily nonstop flight to both Dulles and Washington Reagan National airports.

"What started seven months ago as a single flight to Reagan National Airport has blossomed into a popular business and leisure-travel route," said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska's executive vice president of marketing and planning.

The new flight will add an early morning departure from Dulles and late evening departure from Seattle, providing convenient connecting service to and from other cities throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, as well as California and Western Canada.

Tickets for the new service, which begins June 9, will be available for sale effective April 7. Flight times for Alaska's new and existing service between Seattle and Washington are:

    --  FROM DULLES INTERNATIONAL TO SEATTLE
        NEW! Alaska Flight 5: Departs 8:30 a.m.; Arrives 11:05 a.m.
        Alaska Flight 3: Departs 5 p.m.; Arrives 8 p.m.
    --  FROM REAGAN NATIONAL TO SEATTLE
        Alaska Flight 1: Departs 8:59 a.m.; Arrives 11:55 a.m.
    --  FROM SEATTLE TO DULLES INTERNATIONAL
        Alaska Flight 4: Departs 8:15 a.m.; Arrives 4:10 p.m.
        NEW! Alaska Flight 6: Departs 10:30 p.m.; Arrives 6:10 a.m.
    --  FROM SEATTLE TO REAGAN NATIONAL
        Alaska Flight 2: Departs 12:58 p.m.; Arrives 8:35 p.m.
This month, Alaska also plans to introduce service between Seattle and both Boston and Denver. Seattle-Boston service begins April 4 with one daily flight, while Seattle-Denver service begins April 28 with three daily flights.
